Bilateral trade between Germany and Samoa is focused on Samoan exports of agricultural products, particularly coconut products, and fish. Germany exports machinery and vehicles to Samoa. The New Zealand German Business Association Inc. supports trade relations.

Cultural and educational exchange is encouraged through programs and scholarships available to Samoan citizens, such as those from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The embassy provides information on study and research in Germany.
